Privacy Policy
Effective date: June 5, 2026
This Privacy Policy describes how Listify ("Listify", "we", "us", or "our") collects, uses, and discloses information when you access or use our website, applications, and related services (collectively, the "Service"). By using the Service, you agree to this Policy. If you do not agree, do not use the Service.
1. Who we are
Listify is an independently operated software tool that helps users generate product listing copy for ecommerce platforms such as Etsy and Shopify. Listify is not affiliated with, endorsed by, or sponsored by Etsy, Inc., Shopify Inc., or any other third-party platform.
2. Information we collect
We collect the following categories of information:
- Account information: email address, display name, authentication identifiers, and password hashes (we never store plaintext passwords).
- User content: product names, descriptions, features, prompts, and any other text or data you submit to generate listings, and the outputs returned to you.
- Usage data: generation counts, timestamps, feature interactions, pages visited, referring URLs, device and browser information, IP address, and approximate location derived from IP.
- Billing data: if you purchase a paid plan in the future, payment processing is handled by our third-party processor (Stripe). We do not store full card numbers; we receive limited metadata such as last four digits, brand, and billing country.
- Communications: support messages, email correspondence, and feedback you send to us.
- Cookies and similar technologies: see Section 7.
3. How we use information
We use information to:
- provide, operate, maintain, secure, and improve the Service;
- process generations using third-party AI providers;
- authenticate users and prevent fraud, abuse, and unauthorized access;
- communicate with you about your account, updates, security alerts, and (with your consent where required) marketing;
- enforce our Terms of Service and comply with legal obligations;
- analyze aggregated, de-identified usage to develop new features and improve model prompts.
4. Legal bases (EEA / UK users)
Where the GDPR or UK GDPR applies, we process personal data on the bases of: (a) performance of a contract; (b) our legitimate interests in operating and securing the Service; (c) compliance with legal obligations; and (d) your consent, where required. You can withdraw consent at any time.
5. How we share information
We share information only as described below. We do not sell personal information.
- Service providers / sub-processors: hosting, database, authentication, email delivery, analytics, error monitoring, payment processing, and AI model providers (e.g., Google, OpenAI, Anthropic, or successors). These providers process data on our behalf under contractual safeguards.
- Legal and safety: when we reasonably believe disclosure is required to comply with law, legal process, or government requests; to enforce our Terms; or to protect the rights, property, or safety of Listify, our users, or others.
- Business transfers: in connection with a merger, acquisition, financing, reorganization, bankruptcy, or sale of assets, your information may be transferred as part of the transaction.
- With your direction: when you instruct us to share information with a third party.
6. AI processing and prompt data
Inputs you submit and outputs generated by the Service are transmitted to and processed by third-party AI providers. We instruct providers, where contractually possible, not to use your inputs to train their public models, but we cannot guarantee any specific provider's behavior. Do not submit confidential, regulated, or sensitive personal information (including health, financial account, government identifier, or children's data) through the Service.
7. Cookies and analytics
We use cookies, local storage, and similar technologies to keep you signed in, remember preferences, secure the Service, and measure usage. You can control cookies through your browser; disabling them may break parts of the Service. We may use privacy-respecting analytics tools.
8. Data retention
We retain personal data for as long as your account is active, as needed to provide the Service, and as required to comply with legal obligations, resolve disputes, and enforce agreements. Generation history is retained for as long as your account exists unless you delete it. Backups may persist for a limited additional period.
9. Security
We implement reasonable administrative, technical, and physical safeguards designed to protect personal information. No method of transmission or storage is 100% secure, and we cannot guarantee absolute security. You are responsible for maintaining the confidentiality of your account credentials.
10. International transfers
We and our service providers may process and store information in countries other than your own, including the United States. Where required, we rely on appropriate transfer mechanisms such as Standard Contractual Clauses.
11. Your rights
Depending on your jurisdiction, you may have rights to access, correct, delete, port, or restrict processing of your personal data, and to object to certain processing. You may exercise these rights by emailing us at the contact below. We will respond within the time required by applicable law. We may need to verify your identity before acting on a request.
California residents have rights under the CCPA/CPRA, including rights to know, delete, correct, and opt out of "sharing" for cross-context behavioral advertising. We do not sell personal information.
12. Children
The Service is not directed to children under 16, and we do not knowingly collect personal information from children. If you believe a child has provided us personal information, contact us and we will delete it.
13. Third-party links
The Service may link to third-party websites or services. We are not responsible for their content or privacy practices.
14. Changes to this Policy
We may update this Policy from time to time. Material changes will be communicated by posting the updated Policy with a new effective date and, where appropriate, by additional notice. Your continued use after changes become effective constitutes acceptance.
